The Musicans - Fall 2023

Our one and only litter with Amelia, the Musicians were born between two days with half the litter born naturally on August 27th, 2023 and the final 5 born on August 28th, 2023 by c-section. Amelia was an amazing mother and she provided for her 11 puppies (7 boys and 4 girls) on her own with only a little bit of supplementing for the puppies.

With such an active litter, and wonderful fall days, the Musicians were housetrained by the time they were 5 or 6 weeks old and they spent a lot of time on their jungle gym toys in the playyard. They loved being in the living room with us and were huge cuddle bugs. All went to wonderful homes with Dolly, who is known as Ryleigh, staying incredibly close and heading out to shows with her mom for a fun hobby.

This litter had our smallest puppy ever, but while she was little, Bonnie, who kept her name, is incredibly large in spirit.

The litter theme was for musicians and their registered names align with their litter name by choosing one of the musician's songs.

Roger stayed with us a few extra weeks as his mom and dad wanted to fly out from Nova Scotia to collect him. Timing worked out that he was to fly at 10 weeks old and boy were we worried about him being allowed as carry on.

Bonnie was the smallest puppy we ever produced so she stayed with us until I was happy with her weight. I felt she was much too small to go to her new home at 13.4lbs so we waited until she reached that 20lb mark and then she stayed an extra week for good measure.

Dolly Parton (Hazelwood's Wrecking Ball):

Dolly stayed with us until week 12 as we were thinking of keeping her but decided to place her in an amazing home. Before she left, she earned her Novice Trick Dog title, making her the youngest mastiff to ever receive the title at 11 weeks of age!
