Hazelwood's Destined to Soar NTD

Amelia
Amelia is playful, athletic and loving. She is the best hugger we have at the kennel and will come up, place her head on your shoulder and just let you squeeze her around the neck for hours if you want. She is often the instigator of playtime but is the first to curl up on the couch with us.
One of the cutest things about Amelia is that she doesn't know how to wag just her tail.
Instead, wagging starts in her nose...her head starts wagging, then it moves down into her back, then over to her butt and finally into her tail. Once all those parts are moving, the wag moves down into her legs and her feet start prancing in spot.
There is no other wag for Amelia...it is all of her or none of her. Thankfully, she is a happy girl who wags her body through life.
Amelia does enjoy watching the world. She loves water and some of her favorite times are at the beach. She is also a fanatic over soccer balls and refuses to pick up the ball. Instead, she bats it around the yard with some of the best footwork I've ever seen. She loves being with us and usually spends her day in my office while I work and her nights sleeping in my youngest's bed with him.
Amelia is still having health clearances done according to age restrictions. All genetic testing has been done. She is clear of 214 canine inherited diseases. Importantly:
- PRA: Clear
- DM: Clear
- CMR: Clear
- HU: Clear
- Cysturnia 3: Clear
Hips, Elbows, Eyes and Heart will be tested when she is 2 years of age.
Amelia does not carry the fluffy gene and does not carry any genes that could indicate a mismarked coat such as pied.
And hopefully you'll see her in shows once they open again.
Amelia is part of the Mastiff Diversity Study created by UC Davis. This will assist us with our breeding goals to breed diverse and healthy mastiffs.
For more information on the study, visit their website at https://vgl.ucdavis.edu/canine-genetic-diversity/english-mastiff or to order diversity tests for your purebred, registered mastiff, select the canine genetic test on their order page. You can click on the order tests right from their site.

2020 Virtual World Mastiff Show
Since shows were cancelled in 2020 when Amelia could get out for Baby Puppy, we decided to do the 2020 Virtual World Mastiff Show. We entered with photos of her as well as videos for movement.
Despite only being a week over 3 months, and entered with puppies older than her, Amelia took 2nd place. Very proud of our little girl and know that once the show ring opens, she is going to bring home those ribbons.
