To say that this was a litter full of emotion is an understatement for so many reasons.

Tulip is out of our foundation female, Daisy, who quickly became my second heart dog after her grandmother was lost due to bloat on December 19th, 2020. So we were excited and nervous about Tulip's first litter. Tulip is known for her quirky personality, funny shenanigans and really just doing things her own way...and it seems that her puppies have her flare for the dramatic when the first puppy, an apricot female who actually became our keeper, was born on December 19th, 2024 at 1:08am in the wee hours of the morning. I cried ugly tears seeing my Daisy's first great grandbaby born on the 4th anniversary of losing her.

The little apricot female was followed by several other puppies, apricot and brindle, and Tulip welcomed 7 beautiful puppies to the world on that day. 4 males (2 apricot and 2 brindle) and 3 females (2 apricot and 1 brindle). All have done wonderfully and with the exception of Oyster who left at 9 weeks, and Boba, who is scheduled to leave in april, have gone on to their new homes with rave reviews on their confidence, confirmation, and the giant sized level of love that has come into the lives of those who are lucky enough to provide a forever home for them.

At Hazelwood Kennels, we do a litter theme. This litter are all food based names that my oldest chose. Litter names are temporary, but I often tie registered names to the litter names.

We look forward to seeing how they develop into adulthood and being the best pups for their families. I know they already have their owners wrapped around their little paws.
